Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 8, 2026

MoveCheck is a free moving checklist generator with an optional $2.99 print upgrade. This page explains exactly what data we collect, where it lives, and who it is shared with. The short version: we do not run a user database, we do not run analytics, we do not show ads, and we do not sell anything about you.

1. Data that stays in your browser

When you generate and customize a checklist, MoveCheck stores your choices in your browser's localStorage. This includes:

  • The move type, origin and destination state, and move date you entered
  • Which optional task groups you toggled on (pets, kids)
  • Tasks you added, edited, reordered, deleted, or checked off
  • Whether the current project has been unlocked for printing

This data never leaves your device. It is not sent to our servers, because we do not run a server-side database. If you clear your browser storage, switch browsers, or use a different device, the data is gone and cannot be recovered.

2. Data handled by Stripe when you pay

The $2.99 print unlock is processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. When you check out, Stripe collects the information it needs to process the payment, which typically includes your email address, card number, and billing details. MoveCheck never sees or stores your card number.

After a successful payment, our server asks Stripe for the email address you used at checkout so we can show it on the confirmation screen. We do not save that email anywhere, do not add you to a mailing list, and do not contact you unless you contact us first.

Stripe's own handling of payment data is governed by their privacy policy, linked above.

3. Hosting and server logs

MoveCheck is hosted on Vercel. Like every web host, Vercel keeps standard request logs that may include IP address, user agent, and the page you visited. These logs exist for security and reliability and are governed by Vercel's privacy policy. MoveCheck does not pull these logs into any analytics or profiling pipeline.

4. What we do not do

5. Cookies

MoveCheck does not set cookies of its own. Stripe may set cookies on its own checkout iframe to operate the payment flow and to detect fraud. Those cookies are controlled by Stripe, not by us.

6. Your choices

Because all of your checklist data lives in your own browser, you are in direct control of it. You can delete everything at any time by clearing site data for movecheck.app in your browser settings.

For information that Stripe holds about a payment you made, you can contact Stripe directly through the privacy controls in their policy.

7. Children

MoveCheck is intended for adults planning a move. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change how MoveCheck handles data, we will update this page and revise the effective date at the top. Material changes will be described in plain language.

9. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA.
